Kitchen Design

The garden isn't the only space that can be improved by porcelain tiles, and we're always up for a little bit of interior design chat here at PrimaPorcelain. We've been thinking about kitchen design rather a lot recently, and today we'd like to share this magnificently modern kitchen design with all of you.

This contemporary-looking cuisine makes use of our Driftwood porcelain, and we think that those wood-style tiles complement the rest of the room perfectly. Take a look at the larger version of this image, and imagine how much better your kitchen might look with some beautiful porcelain flooring!

We're always sharing beautiful design ideas like this one. If you've got something to share with us, or you just want to see what else we have to offer, follow Porcelain Paving on Twitter  - we're pretty friendly folk!

Sandstone paving is a fabulous outdoor flooring option, to be sure. It creates an indescribable atmosphere in the garden, and that unvarnished, authentic look lends itself to all kinds of different outdoor designs. Sandstone paving slabs give your family a smooth, stylish surface to enjoy, and no matter what you do in your outdoor space - dining, sunbathing, gardening - the sandstone tiles will work wonderfully well for you.

But sandstone's conspicuous charms do come with a downside. Since sandstone is a natural stone product, your slabs will have a very high porosity. Porous paving might not sound like a catastrophe waiting to happen, but remember, a high porosity makes it easy for moisture to seep into the stone and ruin that flawless natural look. This can be prevented with regular sealing, but be warned: some sealants can cause stone to become weathered and worn.

Besides, sealing your sandstone is just another tedious job to do, and it's one that you don't necessarily need to bother with. Porcelain paving - particularly our Sandstone range - can be just as organically beautiful as sandstone, and porcelain's relatively low porosity means that moisture damage shouldn't be a problem. The paving slabs will stay pretty for years, and you won't have to lift a finger!

When it comes to designing a room - or a garden, for that matter - it's the tiny details that make all the difference. That's why we've got half a dozen different paving styles for our customers to choose from; it would have been easy to offer only one design, but variety is the spice of life, and a selection of different designs allows you to get precisely the right effect from your tiles.

If, for example, you want to create a calm, naturalistic atmosphere, we'd recommend investigating our Limestone Vanilla range before anything else. The creamy colour seems to effuse a gentle glow, and the tiles will bring a wealth of beauty to your home without feeling to overwhelming.

If you've been considering sandstone paving slabs for your garden, then Limestone Vanilla could be the perfect alternative. Our Out 2.0 paving is far more practical than natural stone products like sandstone; the porcelain pavers don't need sealing, and they can be installed without cement or adhesives. They're a fantastically easy-going choice, and they look just as lovely as real stone!

Of course, the same could be said of any product from PrimaPorcelain. If the subtle charms of Limestone Vanilla don't appeal to you, we're sure to have another paving design that will!

Of the six sensational paving styles we stock here at PrimaPorcelain, not one but two are named ‘Bluestone’. This may seem confusing at first, but hopefully we can convince you that each Bluestone design has its own unique charms, and that both of them have crucial roles to play in our porcelain range.

Since it’s our most popular porcelain product, let’s look at the Bluestone Design porcelain first. This stone-style paving design is great for people who want a natural look in their outdoor space, and while Bluestone Design’s speckled grey surface is almost indistinguishable from real stone paving, you’ll find that the porcelain pavers require far less maintenance. Bluestone Design is also ideal for achieving that seamless transition between home and garden, indoors and outdoors. Here’s a closer look:

Where Bluestone Design looks gorgeous in the garden, we feel that Bluestone Vintage is better-suited to interiors.  The surface is slightly more stylised than its earthy-looking counterpart, and the tiles make a chic addition to any living room, bedroom, or hallway. Here’s what the Bluestone Vintage tiles look like:

Whether you opt to use Bluestone Design, Bluestone Vintage, or another paving style altogether, your next project is sure to go swimmingly when you use our attractive Italian porcelain. It goes without saying that porcelain paving is great for the garden, but bear in mind that our In.Out Porcelain Tiles can be used indoors as well! Tile flooring never fails to have a delightful effect on interiors, and it's a stylish alternative to more common flooring products like laminate and carpet.

But where in the home do our porcelain flooring tiles have the biggest impact? Here are a few tips:

  • If your living room feels slightly stuffy at present, porcelain tiles are perfect for cooling it down. We'd recommend the Bluestone Vintage tiles for a living room; they're the ultimate blend of traditional and modern styles.
  • Porcelain flooring tiles look right at home in the kitchen, and they're less vulnerable to spilled food and splashed water than carpets and wood are! We've found that our Driftwood porcelain is particularly well-suited to a kitchen environment, perhaps because of the earthy undertones that lie beneath its contemporary sheen.
  • The bathroom is another space that's ripe with porcelain possibility. The Limestone Vanilla flooring tiles are a great choice for the bathroom, giving you a calm, creamy colour that will make everything feel that little bit lighter.

Of course, these aren't the only rooms that will benefit from the addition of porcelain flooring. The tiles are equally capable of brightening your bedroom, classing up your conservatory, or bringing harmony to your hallway!
